1921 CONSTRUCTION IN GRANVILLE
1903 WORKFORCE
In New York City, 1903, the Telescope Cot Bed & Novelty Company started manufacturing wood cots and campstools with “telescoping” legs that gave the fledging company its unique name. In 1921, the Telescope saw mill and assembly operations were relocated
to the quaint countryside of Granville, NY. This area encompassed acres of woodland, hard-working laborers, as well as rail road that
greatly supported the new facility. Later in 1932, sales and administration moved from New York City to the charming town of Granville.

Now, after 124 years, Telescope has continued to evolve and is featuring high quality materials
made into our wonderful outdoor furniture collections. Telescope Casual Furniture is diligent
in making a positive economic and philanthropic impact, not only in Granville, but also in
Upstate New York, Vermont, and beyond. Over the years we have provided stable employment for more than 275 employees, while also supporting several local youth programs such

as Granville’s Youth League and nonpro昀椀t associations like the Lions Club.
To evolve with an expanding product line and company growth, Telescope has continually
made renovations to the nearly one-million square foot factory along with concentrated efforts
in research and development, engineering, and unique manufacturing processes. As a result
of being self-suf昀椀cient, Telescope has been able to maintain that competitive edge in today’s
market by responding quickly and 昀椀nding innovative methods for manufacturing. Currently,
the operation has transformed into a lean manufacturing model, which is constantly evolving
to help us remain environmentally responsible, ef昀椀cient, and viable.

For 124 years, Telescope has been able to pride itself by remaining a remarkably successful family owned
business that is currently managed by fourth and 昀椀fth generations, now led by Kathy Juckett. Our vast
number of employees maintain a close working relationship with the Vanderminden family and management team. Much of Telescope’s success is owed to the longevity and loyalty of its talented and skilled
workforce. Telescope has always kept its focus on providing the greatest levels of Quality, Design, Comfort,
and Selection combined with a Fast and Reliable delivery. None of these attributes are easy to deliver, but
we know that they are imperative. Telescope is proud to have earned the reputation as having the best
customer service, fastest delivery, and the best quality products in the industry. Our entire team is working
each day to prove that our reputation is well deserved, and our brand is worth it.
